Two people have died while three sustained injuries during a collision on the N6 road between Komani and Jamestown.
This accident which involves three vehicles occurred this
morning on 3km outside Komani towards Jamestown.
The vehicles involved were an articulated truck From Komani
with one male occupant. While a Mazda sedan with two males and a polo vivo 3
males occupants injured both from Jamestown direction.
It is alleged that reckless and the negligent was the main
accident. The Mazda was overtaking the Polo vivo when it met the truck on the
wrong side of the road.
Both occupants of the Mazda died on the scene. The three
occupants of the Polo vivo were rushed to hospital while the truck driver
escaped unscathed.
The MEC for transport in Eastern cape Xolile Nqatha has
called for all road users to be extra vigilant and obey the rules all time to
avoid accidents.
A case of culpable homecide has been opened at Queesntown
police station for further investigation.
