EAST LONDON AGAINST MASSIVE STRIKE

The Eastern Cape premier Oscar Mabuyane has applauded the province.

This is after its fight against the national strike, allegedly in favour of the release of the former South African president, Jacob Zuma.

It is allegedly said that the streets in East London were quiet on Tuesday, while the residents were fearing for a strike. A woman who asked her identity not to be revealed said that, while they were working at Mdantsane City Mall the taxi drivers together with the SAPS members were watching the area like hawks.

While in East London Oxford Street, it is allegedly that the  South African Army was also patrolling in that area.

One of the residents in the area, Yonela Philemon has said that they felt safe as the presidents and hope that the people in the province won't involve themselves in the strike.
